Description
When 16-year-old Finn is arrested while buying cocaine for his drug-addicted mother, Liz, his plans to spend the summer away from New York with his anthropologist father, studying the Ishkanani tribe in the jungle, fall apart. In an attempt to get both her life and her son's back on track, Liz moves him to the guest house of a rural estate owned by her wealthy patron and lover, Mr. Osborne.
Finn is immediately thrust into the "tribe" of wealthy country club associates who inhabit his new home. It isn't long before he is dating Mr. Osborne's granddaughter, Maya, and becoming close friends with her brother, Bryce.
The boy adapts quickly to his new life of expensive clothes, cars, horses, sex, and drugs. Liz begins attending Alcoholics Anonymous meetings and becoming a loving mother who strives to correct her mistakes and regain Finn's love and trust. Unfortunately, things begin to spiral out of control, and the boy starts to see that the wealth and friendships he has acquired come at a price.
