The new Attacking Intelligence provides players with the most sophisticated artificial intelligence ever achieved. Players have the ability to analyze space, work harder to break down the defense, and anticipate play.

Everything now happens with the most intuitive dribbling system ever developed by the franchise. Inspired by the best player in the world, Leo Messi, Complete Dribbling allows players to face opponents and use precise dribbling combinations with true 360-degree mobility, making it easier to be creative and dangerous in 1v1 situations.

FIFA 13 First Touch Control
transforms the way players control the ball, eliminating the perfect first touch for all players on the pitch and creating more opportunities for defenders to win back possession.

The second generation of the Player Impact Engine expands physical play between players in the battle for the ball. Defenders can jockey for possession and use their strength and height to force opponents into poor touches and rushed decisions before the ball arrives.

FIFA 13 Tactical Free Kicks provide new methods for executing dangerous and unpredictable set pieces. You can place three players behind the ball, use a decoy run to distract the rival, and choose from various passing options to deceive your opponents.

- Attacking Intelligence: New smart positioning gives attackers the ability to analyze the game and see the best position to create new attacking opportunities. Players work harder and smarter to break down defenders, pull them out of position, and open up new passing lanes for teammates. Furthermore, players possess vision for plays without the ball and the ability to think ahead to create, curve, or alter their runs to exploit gaps.

- Complete Dribbling: Provides full control over the ball with every touch. Dribble past defenders with the freedom to be more creative in attack. Players have more explosive acceleration with the ball and can perform more precise dribbles with 360-degree mobility when facing a defender. Face an opponent and feint by shifting the ball from side to side to evade tackles, or shield the ball to keep the defender at a greater distance.

- First Touch Control: The new system eliminates the perfect first touch for all players, creating uncertainty when receiving difficult balls. Bad passes are harder to control, allowing defenders to take advantage of poor touches. Factors such as defensive pressure, ball trajectory, and pass speed will affect a player’s success. Players with better ball control and skills will stand out. There will now be fewer perfect passes, a greater chance of losing the ball, and a better balance between defense and attack.

- Player Impact Engine: The second generation of the acclaimed physics engine expands to more off-the-ball battles, giving defenders more tools to win back possession. Defenders can use their body to jockey for position and utilize their size and weight to force opponents into poor touches and rushed decisions before the ball arrives.

- Tactical Free Kicks: Create dangerous and unpredictable free kicks. Place three attacking players behind the ball and deceive the opponent with dummy runs, more passing options, and elaborate free kicks. The opponent can counter by adding or removing players from the wall, advancing the wall, or sending a player out like a bullet to intercept the pass or shot.

- New Passing: Two new passing options give the player the ability and subtlety to pass the ball over a defender's extended leg or chip a pass into space or to a teammate.

- Fundamentals: Essential elements have been refined to make the experience more authentic. Referees make better decisions regarding fouls and cards, goalkeepers have improved intelligence, and Tactical Defending now includes lateral containment mobility for players. Additionally, new animations have been added for shots while off-balance, 180-degree shots, and celebrations.
