Description

Captain Mikhail Polenin (Liam Neeson), in addition to having the trust and affection of his men, is considered and respected as the most experienced submarine captain in the Soviet Navy. However, he is relieved of command of the K-19 because his superiors judge that he is not capable of getting it ready by the scheduled date and time. His replacement is Captain Alexei Vostrikov (Harrison Ford), an officer with an iron will, who manages to have the K-19 set sail exactly at the scheduled time: 16:00 hours on June 18, 1961... Inspired by true events hidden by the Russian government for decades.
