Description

Film based on the true life story of Aileen Wuornos, a prostitute executed in the fall of 2002 in Florida after being convicted of the murder of six men. Although Wuornos confessed to the six murders, including that of a police officer, she claimed to have killed only in self-defense, after resisting violent attacks while working as a prostitute. Desperate and on the verge of suicide, Wuornos enters a Florida bar, where she meets Selby Wall, a young woman sent to live with an aunt by her parents to "cure her homosexuality." Wuornos, a victim of a tragic, abuse-filled childhood, falls in love with her quickly, clinging to Selby as if she were a lifeline. Unable to find a regular job, but desperate to maintain her relationship with Selby, Wuornos continues working as a prostitute. When one of her clients becomes violent, Wuornos shoots him in self-defense; it will be the first in a tragic series of murders...
