Description

The story of Vanquish is set in the near future. Russia and the United States are competing for possession of the world's rapidly dwindling energy resources, and the U.S. has built a space station to harness energy from the sun. Russian forces have captured the space station and redirect the accumulated solar energy in a blast that destroys San Francisco, leading U.S. forces to surrender completely and unconditionally. In response, the U.S. tasks its armed forces with recapturing the space station before the Russians can carry out their next target: New York.
